Park Seo-joon Portrays the Pain of Clumsy Love and Separation in “Surely Tomorrow”

Park Seo-joon has realistically portrayed the clumsy love and pain of separation in youth, drawing empathy from viewers.

In the fourth episode of JTBC’s weekend drama “Surely Tomorrow” that aired on the 14th, Park Seo-joon maximized the emotional impact of his character, Lee Kyung-do, as he faced his first breakup.

In this episode, Park Seo-joon convincingly depicted Lee Kyung-do’s conflicting and complicated feelings, as he truly loves Seo Ji-woo (played by Won Ji-an) but feels insecure in the face of reality.

Park Seo-joon’s realistic acting shone, especially in the scene where he rushed out of the snack bar and argued with Seo Ji-woo. Through the line, “I wanted to buy you a pork cutlet. I thought about it from school and even borrowed money from my brothers. Couldn’t you just eat it and let me have my dignity for a bit?” he naturally portrayed Lee Kyung-do’s timid yet touching side, showing a real-life romance moment.

On the other hand, he displayed a contrasting charm by constantly scolding Seo Ji-woo to stop drinking, personally washing dirt off her feet, and playing a tension-filled game with Cho Jin-eon (played by Oh Dong-min) with Seo Ji-woo in between. At the end of the episode, he captured hearts by saying, “I’m flirting. I’m doing my best,” hinting at changes in his relationship with Seo Ji-woo and raising curiosity about future developments.

The empathy successfully formed between viewers and Park Seo-joon in “Surely Tomorrow” episode 4 resulted in a viewership rating of 3.9% nationwide according to Nielsen Korea, marking an upward trend.

Meanwhile, JTBC’s weekend drama “Surely Tomorrow” airs every Saturday at 10:40 p.m. and Sunday at 10:30 p.m.
