Singer and actor Cha Eun-woo’s current status during military service has become a hot topic online.
On the 28th, images and videos of Cha Eun-woo performing his military service circulated across online communities and X (formerly Twitter).
Photos show Cha Eun-woo, dressed in a suit, saluting in front of military band orchestra members. A short video captured him passionately singing god’s ‘One Candle,’ drawing significant attention.
His precise salute and unwavering ‘face genius’ visuals garnered significant attention.
Following news of his military status amidst a tax controversy, fans expressed delight, though public opinion remains divided.

Cha Eun-woo applied and was accepted into the Ministry of Defense’s military band in May last year, commencing his service in July of the same year. He is expected to be discharged on January 27, 2027.
In January, Cha Eun-woo faced controversy after it was revealed he received a tax notice for approximately 20 billion won, including income tax and penalties, from the National Tax Service.
As a result of the controversy, videos featuring Cha Eun-woo that appeared on KFN’s military broadcast during his service were made private.
Cha Eun-woo later issued a second statement, saying, “I sincerely apologize for the disappointment and confusion my tax controversy has caused to fans and the public.”
He added, “I respect the National Tax Service’s procedures and results, and I have paid all related taxes to prevent further confusion.”
However, the actual payment amounted to approximately 13 billion won. His agency, Fantagio, explained that “some of the payment amount will be adjusted according to the refund procedure by the National Tax Service, and the actual burden is expected to be around 13 billion won, as advised by an accountant.”
