Park Bo-young and Lee Hyun-wook on the Brink of a Kiss in ‘Goldland’ as Love Falters Before 150 Billion Won in Gold Bars

A moment capturing Park Bo-young and Lee Hyun-wook on the brink of a kiss has been revealed.

Premiering on April 29, the Disney+ original series ‘Goldland’ is a survival thriller centering on the desire for gold. It follows Hee-joo (played by Park Bo-young), who comes into possession of 150 billion won in gold bars from a smuggling ring and engages in a fierce battle to monopolize the gold amid chaos filled with greed and betrayal.

Newly released stills capture a tense atmosphere between Kim Hee-joo, who seeks to escape her troubled past, and Lee Do-kyung (played by Lee Hyun-wook), who offered her a helping hand. The two, who were engaged in a secret office romance, face a rift after the introduction of 150 billion won in gold bars. Do-kyung implicates Hee-joo in an illegal smuggling case, prioritizing desire over love.

Their initial choice to protect each other devolves into a dangerous gamble of mistrust, pushing their relationship in unpredictable directions. As curiosity grows over whether they will ultimately choose love or desire, the tension escalates.

Meanwhile, a scene showing Hee-joo and Do-kyung on the verge of a kiss reveals tender emotions while maintaining a subtle distance, creating a mysterious tension that piques interest. The couple, who initially appeared to be enjoying a typical getaway, suddenly confront a crisis due to conflicting desires and choices surrounding 150 billion won in gold bars, further amplifying the drama’s tension.

Park Bo-young explained Hee-joo’s complex emotions: “I’m confused about whether I truly loved Do-kyung or simply held onto him because I sought an escape.” Lee Hyun-wook also foreshadowed his character’s duality, stating, “To Do-kyung, Hee-joo is both a final stop and a refuge, but ultimately, that choice could lead to the most dangerous outcome.”

As Hee-joo and Do-kyung’s relationship remains tangled in love and a dangerous gamble, curiosity heightens over whether they can ultimately protect each other.

‘Goldland’ will release its first two episodes on April 29, with two new episodes airing each week for a total of 10 episodes.
