'Thunderstorm'

The BL drama ‘Thunderstorm’ has concluded, leaving a lasting impression.

On the 19th, episodes 7 and 8 of the eight-part series ‘Thunderstorm’ premiered on the OTT platform Wavve.

‘Thunderstorm’ depicts the intense romance of youths, starting from sympathy and turning into jealousy and possessiveness.

In episodes 5 and 6, Seo Jung-han (Jung Ri-woo) and Lee Il-jo (Yoon Ji-sung) became lovers by confirming each other’s feelings, but Il-jo eventually leaves Jung-han due to real-world obstacles, leading to a sad ending.

In the final episode, their conflicting emotions are once again deeply shaken. Jung-han visits Il-jo on the anniversary of his father’s death and expresses his pent-up resentment towards him, hoping for his return. Contrary to Jung-han’s wishes, Il-jo pushes him away with words that don’t reflect his true feelings, leading to a cold farewell.

Unable to sleep for days, Jung-han misses Il-jo, even seeing his apparition. He encounters Il-jo and Soo-hyo (Hwang Sung-yoon) at his friend Seung-jae’s (Jang Won-hyuk) hospital. During this encounter, Jung-han learns that Jung-in (Lee Dong-joo) has been threatening Il-jo, driving him to confront Jung-in in anger. Upon discovering photos secretly taken at Jung-in’s house, which showed drugs and alcohol, Jung-han finally understands why Il-jo ended their relationship. He then reports Jung-in to the police for drug offenses.

Another photo reveals the secret of Il-jo’s background: he is adopted. Concerned, Jung-han pleads with Il-jo to stay by his side, reflecting on the choices and silences he had not understood. Facing each other’s true feelings, the two ultimately confirm their love again.

Il-jo then confesses his dreams and goals to Jung-han, expressing his desire to become part of Jung-han’s future. Jung-han also faces the choices and responsibilities he needs to make, leading him to a realistic decision. After successfully convincing his father, Jung-han accepts an overseas assignment and promises to reunite with Il-jo at the airport. Il-jo appears before an anxious Jung-han, and the two embrace, reaching a happy ending without words.

Yoon Ji-sung and Jung Ri-woo delicately built up emotions throughout the series, drawing viewers in with their chemistry. The two actors effectively maintained the story’s emotional trajectory, successfully resonating with viewers.
