An MBC ’21st Century Grand Princess’ representative confirmed that the drama will premiere on April 10. It will follow the currently airing MBC Friday-Saturday drama ‘In Your Glorious Season’.
The drama ’21st Century Grand Princess’ is set in a 21st-century constitutional monarchy in Korea. It tells the story of a wealthy woman who, despite her riches, is frustrated by her commoner status, and a prince, the king’s son, who owns nothing and must carve out his destiny, challenging societal constraints.
The pairing of actors Byun Woo-suk and IU has already garnered attention. In the drama, IU takes on the role of Seong Hee-joo, a wealthy woman who boasts beauty, intelligence, and business acumen. Byun Woo-suk transforms into Ian, the second son of the royal family, who must hide his identity while captivating the nation with his good looks and charisma.
