Actor Chansung Hwang opened up about his close friendship with 2PM members and his future plans.
Chansung recently met with reporters in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, to discuss the Netflix series ‘Bloodhounds’ Season 2.
The second season of ‘Bloodhounds’ follows Geon-woo (Woo Do-hwan) and Woo-jin (Lee Sang-yi) as they confront a global illegal boxing league, making bold moves against corrupt loan sharks.
In the series, Chansung portrays ‘Tae-geom,’ a character renowned for his rapid martial arts skills and sharp judgment.

In ‘Bloodhounds 2,’ Chansung took on the challenge of thrilling action scenes, sparking interest in how his 2PM bandmates viewed his performance.
Chansung shared, “The members monitored my performance this time, commenting, ‘The action is cool’ and ‘You must have worked hard.’ I responded in jest, ‘I did work hard.'”
He added, “We don’t criticize each other’s work. With ample critical monitoring available online, we aim to offer each other encouragement instead.”
He also discussed the upcoming full 2PM concert scheduled for May and their future activities.
He shared, “We’ll hold a concert at Tokyo Dome in May, followed by some projects. I anticipate having personal schedules in Japan, traveling back and forth throughout the year,” hinting at a busy year ahead.
As 2PM’s first married member, Chansung fielded questions about fellow member Taecyeon, who is soon to wed. Chansung amusingly stated, “If Taecyeon asks, I’m willing to share everything I know.”

Regarding balancing work and parenting, Chansung remarked, “My typical schedule is centered on self-improvement, involving tasks like songwriting, script reading, or exercising. Therefore, it doesn’t significantly interfere with parenting.”
However, he admitted, “When there’s a lot to prepare, time seems to vanish, and maintaining the required quality can make time scarce.”
His venture into action with ‘Bloodhounds 2’ marked a turning point in his acting career.
He reflected, “The director and I discussed showcasing a completely new side of me as an actor. The director expressed hope that this character would bring significant change to my career.”
He added, “It was a character I had never portrayed before, which made me eager. I constantly considered how to deliver a better and more detailed performance throughout the shoot.”
Moreover, he expressed, “I wanted to push myself further, but the lack of time was challenging, making the project even more special to me.”

Reflecting on his action role, he admitted, “I still feel there’s room for improvement. Thankfully, the director said it was sufficient. I believe I can perform better in my next action role.”
Since his debut in the MBC sitcom ‘High Kick!’ in 2006, Chansung has reached his 20th acting anniversary.
He calmly stated, “Twenty years have passed without me realizing it, as I’ve been working diligently.”
He continued, “Time passes faster than I expected, which is somewhat daunting. It feels as though I can still accomplish a great deal, even though 20 years have passed and I’m in my late 30s.”
Chansung’s expansion as an actor through his first action role and the character ‘Tae-geom’ has raised expectations for his career over the next 20 years.
